Hedjuvan-MG400, also known as Polyethylene Glycol 400, is commonly used as pharmaceutical excipient due to its excellent solubility and compatibility with a wide range of drug molecules. As a medium molecular weight variant of PEG, it is particularly effective in formulating liquid medications, including oral solutions and eye drops, where it acts as both a solvent and a lubricant to enhance patient comfort and medication efficacy.

It is also essential in topical formulations such as ointments and creams, often combined with a higher molecular Macrogol such as Hedjuvan-MG1500 or Hedjuvan-MG3350. Its hygroscopic nature aids in maintaining skin moisture, making a critical component in dermatological products.
