Webinar: Pellets from fluid bed processes – a smart concept for high(er) potent drug processing

Manufacturing tablets is frequently a multi-step process: weighing, granulation, milling, blending, compression, coating. The efforts to provide a safe work environment for the production staff are considerably reduced when a technology platform like pellets is applied for high potent APIs.

Contact with the potent API can be limited to the weighing step. Less manufacturing steps also means: reduced risk for cross contamination.

OEL calculations for the drug products to be produced is demonstrated. Cleaning of equipment considering GMP acceptance criteria is discussed.

Q1: Cetirizine hydrochloride being a crystalline API. So when loaded there may be a possibility of recrystallization of the drug, leading to irregular shaped pellets, leading to non-uniformity when considered for next coating. How to resolve such issues?

Q2: How to clean the dust from the exhaust air?

Q3: Is it possible to coat tablets ranging from 6mm to 10mm in size using wurster coater and which base plate combination one has to use?
