Pectin is a heterogeneous anionic polymer extracted from the rind of citrus fruit. It is composed of a linear chain of ? (1? 4) linked D-galacturonic acid residues.

GENU® Pectin (Citrus) Type USP/100 is a high ester pectin extracted from citrus peels. It has a relatively fine particle size, light powder color, and functions as a thickening and stabilizing agent in pharmaceutical products as well as a no sugar or other inert dilution agent used for standardization. This product is specifically used for wound healing bandages, ostomy bandages, pharmaceutical emulsions, and pharmaceutical suspensions.
